Providing Opportunity for Veterans

What a honor to be of service to the men and women from Detroit who have served in the military of the United States of America. I thought this would be just another journey but it is so much more. Sometimes we are so IN the work that we have not taken note of how the work is in US!

Our Veterans are first responders ready to be called to work, they are prepared and with some assistance will answer the call to perform any assigned task.

Our program will provide them with those extra skill sets needed to enter into the new 21st century green jobs workforce with confidence and the desire for high achievement.

Home Is Where The Love Is

We Want Green Too is a declaration to the men and women of the US military, who have fought the "good fight", returned home to war, again, on their own home fronts. The stakes are different though, because many Veterans are returning home with the carnage of Traumatic Brain Injury, suffering with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), that must be managed to successfully reintegrate to civilian life. Unfortunately, that readjustment is not happening for so many of our Veterans, and this is where our journey begins...at home where the love is.

It All Started Right Here - Homelessness

Right here at home, right in front of our very eyes are individuals, human beings without homes, living on the street or in shelters in Detroit, in America. Many, over 80% of homeless people are Veterans.

In a city like Detroit with more than 30,000 vacant, blighted structures in need of love and attention,, do you think we could pair those in need with that which needs, to reach a positive outcome?

We Want Green, Too envisions this as an opportunity to join forces recreating our communities for those who need to develop a place called “HOME” This is a perfect storm as well as a remarkable opportunity to retrain, restore and revitalize our communities from blight to bright.
